CHANGES IN THE CUSTOMS TREATMENT OF SHIPMENTS VALUED AT UP TO 150 EUR

Bulgarian Posts informs its clients that effective from July 1, 2026, a fixed customs fee of EUR 3 per item will apply to “small shipments” with value of up to EUR 150 containing goods, subject todistance sales.

This decision is a part of European union’s efforts to modernize the Customs Union and was agreed upon within the framework of the EU Council of Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN).

This measure represents a transitional solution until the full implementation of the Customs Union reform and the launch of the EU Customs Data Hub, scheduled for July 1, 2028. Its objective is to ensure more efficient management of the growing volume of low-value shipments associated with e-commerce, as well as to strengthen customs oversight of distance sales.
